This small gallery shows 37410 on 0z37 Warrington - Toton for it's 'retirement' and a quick trip up Toton Bank. The final trip of 2007, wonder how many 37's i can get next year? With four being preserved and 37401 due to return the future looks bright for the growlers, here's to look forward to 2008. The biggest farce in railtour history occurred on this day. Shitfire railtours Electric Scot Farewell got off to a flying start by not even departing Oxley even when i was told to meet the train at Wolverhampton where the tour would 'start'. ONE announcement in THREE AND A HALF HOURS OF WAITING to tell us what was happening was nowhere near enough satisfactory to the army of enthusiasts surrounding Wolverhampton station. After all the fuss and the patience of everyone waiting to sample an 87 for the last time, the tour was cancelled. Note to SPITFIRE for future tours, dont send your rolling stock to the oxley cowboys, dont check your stock on the morning of the tour but instead check it the week before the tour as the stock was stabled for a week! Finally a bit of information doesn't harm anyone except about the 300 people standing on Wolverhampton platform for (rhymes with truck) .... all!

A quick visit to Newark today to see the 09.30 Edinburgh Waverley - Kings Cross pass in the form of 43300 and 43238 on the new National Express East Coast liveried High Speed Train. Interesting choice of livery huh?

Gen in the morning was passed on and it appeared 37422 had dropped on the 6H66 local trip from Warrington to Dowlow (near Buxton). I headed with a few pals in the motor up to the Dowlow plant itself to see the tractor clagging well on idle waiting to depart. I headed to a field a couple of miles along the Dowlow branch itself to get the first few phots. 66621 was set out first and so the 37 left Dowlow on 6F67 40 minutes late. After capturing her first time around, we quickly headed to Peak Forest to catch the 37 coming back north after its run round in Buxton sidings. The results were most pleasing and a personal goal for me in 2007 as the last time i saw 37's at Peak Forest, they were in Construction sector! Enjoy this dull but entertaining day's phot's!
